Burgers
Burger or Hamburger is savored as the most desired fast food meal in the United States. A hamburger is basically a sandwich prepared by stuffing ground meat patty, generally beef, between two slices of a bun cut in half. Hamburger is also famous for its seasoning. Most popular condiments used in hamburgers in the United States are mustard, mayonnaise, and ketchup. Besides ground meat patty, hamburgers are also stuffed with lettuce, onions, tomato slices, pickles, and cheese.
Hamburgers are also categorized into two types in the United States. Fast food hamburger and individual hamburgers served at restaurants are two basic types of burgers served in the United States. The individual hamburgers served at restaurants are prepared using everything including lettuce, onion, tomato, and sliced pickles as well as melted cheese on the patty or crumbled on top. American restaurants also serve veggie burgers for those who don't relish meat. Cheeseburgers are also hot favorite in the United States.
McDonalds is the most popular fast food burger restaurant serving different types of burgers in the United States. On the other hand, there are several restaurants such as Burger King are famous for serving the best hamburgers in the United States. Most burger restaurants in the United States often serve hamburgers with French fries and other condiments. If you have a liking for burgers in the United States, then you won't be disappointed. Little pricey, lowest temp they'll cook a burger to is 'medium', :( , but still a decent place to get a burger. Clean (exceptionally), the ambience is pleasant, the staff friendly/courteous ... service is very good. The black bean, turkey chili probably stood out most for me ... thick, meaty and a decent serving size, :). Not as offensively spicy as I usually like my chili (which can be a good thing) but tasty nonetheless. First time at a Bagger Dave's, :) ... yeah, I know, "gotta' get out more", :) .

Well, there's good and there's bad based on just ordering burgers. The good....waitstaff, big selection of burger options, beer, house made sodas and floats, enough TV's and music to entertain but not overpower. The bad....prices are on the high side and all sides are extra. The worst thing, your only option for how your burger is cooked is medium or well. We asked if they would cook to medium rare and our server said the medium is very close to medium rare. Well....it was very much well done; not even a hint of pink in the meat. And, therefore, it was dry. This is a breaking point for us, if a restaurant that specializes in burgers cannot ensure the quality of their meat so that it can be cooked medium rare then we will not patronize them. Bottom line; if you like your burgers well done, it's an okay place to eat. If you want a good, juicy medium rare burger....move on down the road.

imagine if you will (and I will): a delightful restaurant that is cozy, serves tasty foods, has foods that my 6-year old likes, serves tasty beverages (sodas and beers) AND has a model train that cruises along around the ceiling...I know...sounds pretty amazing. That was my horrid attempt at a good review. Now for the awesome: I usually build my own burgers here because their pre-crafted menu burgers have a little of everything I want. I always roll with the pretzel bun ($1 extra), 8oz prime rib patty and some jalepenos. I experiment with the other toppings every time I go If you do come here, get some creamy sriracha either for your burger or for your fries. That sh!t is the sh!t. Also, their BBQ sauce is pretty boss. That's what I love about this place. The selection of stuff and things is amazing. I also enjoy the fact that this is the only place my 6-year old will calm himself and actually eat an entire meal. I don't know what it is about the atmosphere but he loves it (I might a little too). I am part of the Fresh Rewards program. I don't know much about it as I just enrolled. It seems pretty lucrative if you show up here and eat (and drink) quite a bit like we do. Right off the bat we got a free appetizer. I wasn't overly impressed with the spinach-artichoke dip (it was good, just didn't blow my mind)...but then again I'm not a food critic...nor am I an artichoke dip connoisseur (but I do play one on TV). Now, the sodas. BLACK CHERRY CREAM. Man, that stuff is sooo good at what it does...it should get a promotion. Also, they do have a mystery flavor. You can either put your trust in your waiter/waitress...or they can tell you what it is. I did this once and ended up with a soda that tasted like a starburst candy. I don't remember the concoction, sorry Yelpers. They do have free refills on any of their hand-crafted sodas as well. Feel free to drink up! To end: Try it if you haven't already. Their burgers aren't necessarily the best in the biz, but I think they put together a lot of great things that make the whole experience great. oh...and mad props (yeah I said it) to the staff here...they are always knowledgeable and friendly. ~ strik934

Great fresh food! Very friendly staff!! They have all Michigan craft beers on tap which is nice Turkey burgers are my favorite.

I talked my wife into trying this place after accidentally trying it in E Lansing. I thought it was good, and love the "real" fries. Once again, pretty good! The wait staff was friendly and seemed to care about making my visit a positive one. I was a bit concerned that my E Lansing burger was somewhat uncooked, but that did not repeat itself at this Bagger Dave's. Thank goodness, as my wife would not have eaten it. My wife loved the Root Beer, and we both loved the Mac and cheese, having a few fork full's from my wife's side dish. The fries were very good. My only complaint was my wife's Swiss and mushroom burger arrived without any mushrooms, so it was a bit dry. The server apologized and took the mushrooms off the bill. Other than that hiccup, it was fairly uneventful. I will say unless you are looking for fast food with a beer, we both agreed we should just go to 5 guys. The atmosphere does beat the crazy 5 guys "eat and run" drill, but we also paid a bit more money at Bagger Dave's. Overall, I would try again.

Went here about a week ago with my boyfriend, and the food was amazing! I like the whole build your own burger thing and they have veggie burgers too! But the service we had was horrible!! We had the blonde guy bartender (he never told us his name) and he checked on us once by yelling at our table from the bar, which I wouldn't mind but he checked on us by saying "are you guys done yet?" He cleared our table before we were even done and gave us our bill at the same time. It was still 45 minutes until they closed but he was rushing us out and telling one of the regulars at the bar that they were basically closed and he wanted to get his shit done (And I'm a waitress at a bar too so I understand but I would never talk like that in front of customers, especially new ones). Very unprofessional and we couldn't wait to leave, worst service I've ever had. If we ever go back and he's our server again we surely won't be staying.
(2)Evan C.
This time around service was better. Still slow when compared to other establishments. Food was good and I've never had a problem with it. HR followed through and I'm impressed that they cared about our last experience. Overall will return.

First visit. Wait staff was indifferent to our issues. There was something really weird with the handcrafted sodas - there was an after taste. I tried the flight of sodas sampler and the only one I liked was the root beer. The mac & cheese was good, as were the sweet potato chips. A not-sweet dip for those chips other than honey-something or caramel could make for a good complement. The bun on my husband's overpriced burger was burnt and the french fries were literally sopped with grease and dripping it. The waitress never checked back until it was time for the check, so she got the tip she earned - $0. I doubt we'll try it again.
(2)William S.
Very nice place. The decor is clean and bright and inviting. The food - it's a glorified fast food restaurant. The burger was reasonably tasty, but nothing spectacular. The bun was great. The meat, like McDonalds. My fries were pretty decent. My overall take-away from the place was that they are trying to be a gourmet hamburger place with blah food. For two drinks, 1/4 burgers and fries we ended up spending $25....not cheap. I would say, not a good value for what you get. We probably won't be going back.
(3)Brian E.
Went on a Sunday night.. It was about 80% full so we were seated immediately. The place was super clean... The waitstaff was cleaning the entire time we were there... I had a. Make your own... Sautéed onions and mushrooms are free... I added Canadian bacon and sweet potato chips. My son got the Mac n cheese with fries. He got a chocolate shake.. I got strawberry. Everything came out at the same time... And it was delicious. The only suggestion I have is easy on the mustard (asked for ketchup, mustard and mayo... I think it was all mustard. And the bacon was a little over done. However... The burger was great, the chips were great... The fries were great and the milkshake was really great... Tons of strawberries in mine. And the staff was super polite and friendly too. A great dinner out.

Saturday afternoon lunch KID free! Was seated right away at a high top table near the bar. Our waitress was very nice, our food was so-so. I ordered a black cherry cream soda, the California BLT, and fries with the chipotle dressing. The soda tasted a little flat, but since they make it there maybe that's how it's supposed to taste. The BLT bread was very soggy and so buttery tasting. I ate half the sandwhich without it. The fries were just ok- nothing special, and the chipotle sauce was disgusting. My fiancé ordered the blazing buffalo bleu cheese burger- it was very messy and not enough cheese, but he says it was good. He also ordered the fries and ranch dressing along with the new creamy siracha. The creamy siracha was nasty. It had a sweet taste to it, bllaaaa! The ranch was good, but nothing like Jet's Pizza! We also split a side of the Mac and Cheese. THAT WAS AWESOME! Crunchy on the top, super hot and just really good.

How does a place that's supposed to be so great as this which I haven't tried so bare with me not have the number one selling beer in the world. Bud light. Not that I always drink bud light today I chose Bacardi and coke but my girl Wanted to start with bud light. Nope sorry all out. Nobody in this place so in my experience not a good sign. I assume same crap as red robin so drank our drinks and left the grease smell in there in putrefying. I'm gonna assume they are going to close down soon if u don't have bud light. Meijer is right down the street.

Today was my first time to Bagger Dave's and I must say, it was amazing. I had the Train Wreck with fries and a small side of the Twisted Mac n Cheese. The burger was amazing!! The combo of the egg, burger, cheese, and the dressing was just amazingly delicious. The mac n cheese, wasn't a fan of. And the pop was good for being home made. Never had home made pop before and it was good. I'll definitely be back!!!
(5)Matthew S.
Our first time at Bagger Dave's and we were overall happy with the food. I got the Trainwreck Burger and it was good. Maybe a little more sauce would've added to it but I really can't complain because I killed it. My wife got the standard Cheeseburger and liked it as well. We both agreed that the hamburgers tasted fresh. Our 4 year-old daughter got the Mac n' Cheese and she said it tasted weird. I tasted it and thought it was delicious. Perhaps it was too "done up" for her Kraft tastebuds but she still managed to eat it. The prices seemed a bit high considering there aren't even chips included with the burger purchase. The fries we got were pretty bland and forgettable. A little disappointing, especially since we had to pay extra for them. The inside was clean and everyone was nice to us. The music was loud enough to hear but not obnoxious. They had several televisions but not to the point of sensory overload. We'll probably come here again for beers and burgers. Overall a good experience and comfortable atmosphere.

Rebecca made this experience amazing! Her positive attitude and quirkiness made our first experience here very pleasurable! She knew all of her menu items, and even let us sample different flavors of the house made drinks. Love her! I would come back to this location just for her! Kinda stupid that the mix n match sweet potato chips and fries are (if I'm not mistaken) are 2 for $6 but you can't get two fries or two chips for that price. They're veryyyy cheap when it comes to their sauces. Not even 3/4 full and they charge 50 cents for each one. Spiced up Mac and cheese was awesome! the cheese sauce wasn't gritty and it had a nice kick. The smoked Gouda gave it a nice flavor profile too :)
(4)Dustin M.
I've been coming here occasionally for a while now and really enjoy it. They've got a great selection of beer and bourbons to pair with their food. I really like the build your own burger option. A lot of places are doing that these days but it seems like these guys find ways to be just a bit different. I should say though, I miss the peanut butter option! (It sounds weird but it was delicious!) Bring it back! Anyway, a great place to kick back at the bar, have a couple craft beers and get a good bite to eat! Try the chili!
(5)Guy K.
Based on a friends Facebook post I figured I would give them a try. They were a little bit busy and had a difficult time seating a group of 5 as all of the big tables were seated with groups of 2 or 3. Food was good, they build your own burger option appears to be the way to go. I was impressed with my random selections. Thursday is 50% off beer night, they have a nice selection of Michigan Beer. Gave it a go and was impressed. I will be back

I like this place. It feels very cooperate. That is obviously not why I like it. There is a great menu selection. It is not all burgers. There are salads & sandwiches as well as chicken, turkey and vegetarian patties. My favorite part of the menu is the customization. Typical restaurant portion sizes are very large. But here, they give you an option. On or two patties is the big one. Fries are also al la carte. My husband and I have discovered that a small fry is plenty for us to share. Their prices are reasonable. They also have a great beer selection and handcrafted sodas.
(4)Andrea E.
I liked this place. The waitress was friendly. Not fake waitressy small talk friendly but legit friendly which is always cool. They had a decent beer selection, and I also tried their hand crafted root beer. It was pretty good, but nothing amazing. We had some delicious turkey burgers - I ended up sharing a bleu cheese/buffalo and a southwest (guac, etc) with my friend. What really impressed me though was the mac and cheese. I'm usually not so interested in mac and cheese and I almost got fries instead, but I'm so glad I didn't! Man, it is so good! The top is kind crusty and it's so cheesy and stringy. I am definitely a huge fan.
(4)Ferdinand T.
Yes this is the real deal. Gluten free menu. We were seated within 5 minutes. Very family friendly. Our server Sarah B. was friendly and perky. I would definitely recommend for any busy family.

This is my second time coming to Bagger Dave's, both times resulted in the same feeling, satisfied!! This time I came for the Elite Yelp event. The meal came with a signature soda(I got orange cream-sooo good), turkey burger, a side of Mac and cheese and a swag bag(I took pictures of it) The orange soda was awesome. I haven't drank pop in about 15 years and I'm not exaggerating. It was the right mixture of bubbles and not over sweetness. This is a must try if u come here. Building your own burger is always nice and I appreciate they don't charge extra for the "fancier" toppings like sautéed mushrooms and onions. My mom was obsessed with the Mac and cheese and said it was the best she ever had. It had an awesome crust on the top of it. Also, the managers were super nice and we had an excellent server named Vanessa. She was very helpful with describing menu items and even brought us samples of the craft sodas before we decided on which one we wanted. I love that type of service! Be sure to grab a beer glass on your way out! Can't wait to come back:):) Thanks Yelp and Bagger Dave's for the banging experience!

Love the new location ! A coworker bud of mine , never heard of it, so we hit it on Monday. Received a very warm greeting, & were promptly seated, & Joe S burst onto the scene , with Zero letdown. [ also noteworthy were several tables ordered the very FLAMBOYANT shakes... yea shake envy } We both ordered BYOB build your own burgers & split a regular fry with sea salt . My double burger on a honey wheat bun sauteed onions, mushrooms blue cheese romaine lettuce jalapenos balsamic vinegar cajun spice pico de gallo 5 stars all the way Also my pal ordered a Train Wreck Beer , which he loved as it was a 8.2 a.c.

I've heard about this place since I've moved home and figured it was time to try it out. I was leaving Lakeside mall and was starving, so I stopped in after driving by it on the way out. I got seated right away, and really liked the décor. Nothing fancy, but nothing dumpy either. Great place to bring kids, a parent or random friends for food. I had a really nice server named Rebecca who really made my experience wonderful here. I told her I'd never eaten at Bagger Daves before, and she walked me through the whole menu. I knew they were known for their burgers, and she turned me on to the build your own burger. She walked me through the whole thing, and the burger came out great! I will say, its a plus, but also a negative that they make their own soda. I think that's cool, but I secretly wish they also had Coke or Pepsi products for those of us who prefer to not live on the edge and try new things all the time. Sometimes, new pop can be a very scary thing to some folks *cough* and would rather go with a traditional Sprite or Dr. Pepper rather then a berry blast home made pop. Also, another comment. I will say I tried the cinnamon dipping sauce for the potato chips. On one hand, the chips were awesome!!! LOVED THEM. But, the first few bites of the cinnamon dip tasted weird. Clearly, I could taste the cinnamon, then the honey, but I couldn't place the third ingredient. It was something like cough syrup that I had as a child when I had the flu. All I could think about was cough medicine! UGH. I ended up finishing it, and it wasn't so bad after a while, but it was really sweet. Anyways, I would go back in the future, and overall not a bad time. Thanks to a good server who helped me through the whole thing.

This is a clean, well decorated, well run restaurant. I liked the cool train that went around on a track near the top of the ceiling. Everything that we ordered was delivered on time, hot and fresh. I liked feeling like I was eating quality ingredients. Mom and I both ordered tomato soup. It was very fresh consisting mainly of chopped/crushed tomatoes but it seemed to lack any real flavor. The healthy aspect of the soup was ruined (to me anyway) by having it served with a huge pile of cheese on top...yuck! I like cheese on my onion soup. My egg sandwich was delicious served on toasted sourdough bread with bacon and cheese. I didn't like the way the menu nickel and dimed you to death, I found that tacky. $1.50 extra here, 50 cents extra there. By the time you order a normal burger it might cost you $15.00! Overall I'm a fan because it is a quality establishment serving quality food.
(4)David D.
I probably should give this place 3 stars, but it's hard to complain when I can put virtually everything I want on a decent burger with the exception of red peppers. The last time I went there (the second time) I got some spicy mac and cheese as well. I don't recommend it. It's more peppers and sauciness than mac and cheese. It honestly made me hate myself for a few brief seconds. Jessica, the waitress, understood my pain. I give her 5 stars.
(4)Sara J.
Me and my sister came here today. The turkey burger was delicious! Not dry like other places I've had. I made my own turkey burger which was fun. We had Fries that were pretty good especially with the Santa Fe chipotle sauce to dip. The best part was today was 50% draft beers which were all Michigan craft beers. You can't beat that anywhere!! My sister got the all american burger and it looked good and she said it tasted great. She also ordered the Mac and cheese and I wish I would have gotten that also since it was so good. I will be back for sure!
(5)Kris F.
Good food - mediocre service. Not very busy for Friday night. Good for groups or families - burgers are good , fries are excellent, Mac n cheese fair, salad was large and awesome. Excellent house made ranch dressing. Service and atmosphere is why only 3 stars. Floor appeared greasy in bar area and bathroom had holes in walls? Creepy. Waitress was slow and disinterested. Again the food was good.
(3)Ashley K.
Great service and burgers. The server checked on us several times to make sure we were having a great time. The place was very clean and the restroom was clean which is a plus. I had the Mac n cheese and it was hot and delicious. Lots of great beers on tap and bottled. Also I was able to get a shorts soft parade for 2.75 during their happy hour which I guarantee you won't find anywhere else. Best HH that's for sure. Keep it up Bagger daves and we will be back.
(5)Kristen S.
I was very impressed with my visit! My mom and I tried to walk in to Luv Nail Salon and they couldn't fit us in for 2 hours. We decided to walk down to Bagger Dave's for a drink. Let me start with my drink. We'll say I'm a wine... enthusiast. Yeah, we'll go with that. ;] I hate going to restaurants that give you a tiny glass full to the brim and have no way to swirl (aerate) your wine. That's the kind of glass I'd expect in a place like this. Nope! They brought me out the Fenn Valley riesling in a proper white wine glass! I was impressed. The wine itself was good, not too sweet and not too dry. Now I can't speak to how well their burgers & fries are. That's not what we were in the market for. We got the desserts. I had the strawberry cheesecake and it was good. It wasn't anything special but I'd order it again. My mom got the brownie sundae. It was a little strange to us that the brownie wasn't warm. My mom asked if they had a microwave and the waiter said no. He told my mom he'd go get her 2 more pieces and pop them in the oven for a minute. They came out and were just right. The kicker for us was when they brought out the bill. Instead of your typical mints they bring you out Tootsie Rolls! My mom and I were so excited! We told him he just upped his tip with these Tootsie Rolls. He laughed and said it was the companies policy but that he always gives a couple extra because "who doesn't like Tootsie Rolls?!" When he passed by our table later he smiled and dropped off a couple more Tootsie Rolls. Although we did not dive into their menu very deeply, in our experience, Bagger Dave's has excellent customer service. Our waiters name was Dennis & we couldn't have been happier with his hospitality.
(4)Olga T.
The food was decent, our burgers didn't look like 8 oz. at all. The menu price was for 8 oz yet we still got charged extra dollar, very misleading. The whole modifications is super confusing, especially if you try to get a burger without pickles, tomatoes and onions, we were told we couldn't do that because you're only allowed two modifications. The waitress was clueless, didn't know what drinks were part of happy hour and just overall attitude was poor. Service was bad. Would not come back.
(1)Barbie M.
I am only giving this place 3 stars based on the service and French fries. Everything else 1 star. Oh wait my black cherry cream soda was really good! Moving on...so did you know they REFUSE to cook your burger to order here? Me neither! So when I asked for medium the gal said "sorry no can do" they only come med well or well. Her corporate reasoning was the burger would still be cold in the middle due to the size. SO NOT TRUE BAGGER DAVE!! I have had half pound burgers done med and they have been hot and juicy. I'm going with the patties are pre cooked to a certain done-ness and just slapped on a grill for consumption. When my blues burger arrived it was like 2 cardboard disks with some blue cheese slapped in the middle. I took 3 bites and just couldn't do it. I paid all the money for a nasty over done burger. The nice waitress asked me if I like it and I flat out told her it was over done and dry. She said sorry and took it away. My husband said his turkey burger was great. The fries here are really good. Thicker cuts with the skin still on and a tad crispy. We enjoyed those. For the price you should be able to get your burger any darn way you like. I mean you can build your own why cant you have it cooked the way you like as well. Bagger Dave's burger tasted like it came from a bag. I've had way better!
(3)Lil' D.
I was impressed with Bagger Dave's! The server was very friendly, walked us through the ordering process and seemed excited about the menu. I hadn't had a soda in years, but decided to try the craft blueberry pomegranate soda for fun. My boyfriend ordered a craft beer. My drink was super fizzy, tasted good, but wasn't the best. I'm vegetarian, and loved all of the options I had. Most of the combinations sounded great. My boyfriend is a big meat-eater, and he liked the options too. We both loved our meals and that they had a unique spin to them. The burgers were more affordable than I expected, too. I found out that Bagger Dave's is owned by the same company as Buffalo Wild Wing's. Kind of surprising! Overall, it wasn't the best meal I've had, but the service, unique menu items, and options made it great. I would definitely go back
(4)Robert W.
Well, after hearing all of the and fuss about this "legendary" burger, and as a guy's guy meat lover, I needed to give this place a shot. The look and feel of the place is great. Tons of wood, open kitchen, nice little bar in the back. I see the menu and had to order the Train Wreck. Fried egg, fries and anything else you can think of on it. To sum it up, it was bland. It literally didn't taste. I don't know what it is, because I've cooked frozen GFS parties on a flattop at home and got more taste out of a burger than this one. I can't say I was mad, but when you tout your place as a burger joint, you need to be in the Top 10, and I would choose a Big Buford at Rally's over this. The fries were "meh". OK. Not great. Again, Wendy's fries are better. My kid got the sweet potato chips, which were the highlight of our meal. Service was great I should add. She was friendly and well trained. That is where the 2-stars were earned. Will I go back? I sincerely doubt it.
(2)Michael S.
The custom made sodas had an after burn taste, which I did not care for. The bun on the burger was burned. The regular fries were way to greasy for my liking. On the other hand the twisted mac-n-cheese was great and my wife liked the sweet pot fries were good. I am leaving this feedback here because the wait staff never returned.
(1)Suzzette M.
This place is not horrible, but it is nothing fantastic either. The beer list is really good. Lots of great Michigan Beers to choose from. Soda's are homemade and very tasty. Burgers are good. Like I said the food isn't horrible, better than McDonald's, but you can get a better burger (I think) at Five Guys, Shamrock Pub, or SmashBurger. Lots of toppings to choose from. Burger was VERY messy. Both my burger and the one The Hubs had fell apart after bite 2 or 3. A few different cheeses to choose from. Fries are nice. Sweet potato chips are also good, something different. Can get both smothered in toppings...never had those. I am a traditionalist when it comes to fries. Service is GREAT! I have been to two different locations, and the service was awesome at both locations. This place is a nice change from all the other franchise places that litter Hall Rd, service is nice and consistent. Food will not blow your mind, but leave you satisfied.

Everytime I've shopped at Ulta, I have smelled something amazing coming from this restaurant, so I finally decided to discover just what that something is. Spoiler: I'm still stumped. I'd like to first point out that much of food here from condiments to sodas are their own. There's no Coke or Pepsi products here, just their own fountain sodas which was a neat idea, but sadly pale in comparison to their brand big brothers. I ordered a Boston Cooler (vanilla ice cream and ginger ale) and my fiancé ordered their cola. But being from Detroit, nothing beats a Vernors. The cola, as well, was just alright. They did have, however, a nice selection of Michigan beers which I respect. We started our meal off with their chips and pico de gallo which was tasty. The tomatoes tasted fresh and the chips were lightly seasoned with a Cajun salt. I next ordered the Trainwreck burger. And again, I felt like this was just alright. Not bad, not great. Forgettable. My fiancé ordered the Blues burger and his review consisted of a shoulder shrug and a "Eh, it was good." Food aside, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was modern. Giant flat screen TVs decorated the walls with the hockey game. There was also tons of Michigan memorabilia hung up which was a cozy touch. All in all, this place has an enjoyable atmosphere, forgettable food, but good service. It's a good place to grab a beer, order an appetizer (I'd forgo an entrée), and watch the game.
(3)Cristina B.
My Aunt and I went here today after our long shopping trip at the mall across the street. The atmosphere and decorations immediately got my attention. Very modern, woodsy feel. The TVs played various sporting events (making me even happier.) Because it was out first time here, our waiter (Guy was his name) gave us a recap of the menu and how things worked. My Aunt ordered a burger (American burger, if I recall) and I opted for the Peanut butter, banana, and honey sandwich. We also ordered a mix batch of the fries. HOLY SMOLEY. My sandwich was amazing. It's honestly making my mouth water thinking about it. It may not be your cup of tea or maybe you're hesitant about it but I certainly loved it. I'd order it again without a doubt. My Aunt enjoyed her burger and we also thoroughly enjoyed the fries. They're different and sometimes you need to adventure and try new things :) Overall, our service was great as well as the food and I will be dining there again.

What: More of a sit-down casual joint than a true tavern, Bagger Dave's is a good chill place to grab a burger (Italian and brew with friends. The decor is simple but inviting with ample TVs for game day coverage; a lone locomotive advertising the establishment's namesake silently circles an overhead ceiling track. Friendly hostess and waitstaff with little to no wait times. When: Lunch or dinner. Must: Add applewood bacon to their Fiery Bleu Buffalo Burger. Bleu cheese, buffalo sauce, and cheese on a burger always makes a winner. Another favorite: the Trainwreck burger. Can't go wrong with fried egg on a 100% beef! Their fries are good hot but not for carryout as soggy does not taste lovely; to get their choice of sauces, order the sweet potato chips. Otherwise, order the 50 cent honey mustard for the fries. Their namesake table ketchup tastes like Heinz. The Founders Dirty Bastard Ale is a great compliment to the Buffalo and Trainwreck burgers. Dessert? Order the brownie with a scoop of vanilla. Ask for it heated! #RajivRecommends60% #DetroitCity #FoodReview #Chain

Very fun and relaxing environment! Sara and Dennis ... Awesome!!! Make your own burgers, fries, craft beers are excellent.

Just okay. Nothing outstanding, nothing dreadful. Okay. I've been here twice and each time, I was met with outstanding service and a clean, inviting atmosphere. The sweet potato chips and the homemade fries are where it's at. Loved them..they were so addictive that I had to push the platter away! We got ours without any condiments, but on my first visit, I did try the cinnamon honey sauce that was suggested for the sweet potato chips. Yech! Did not like it at all. The sodas are homemade, or "craft" sodas, and I sampled the root beer, the citrus blend (like Sprite) and the diet cola. Everything tasted great, and the diet cola tasted much better than any Diet Pepsi (I'm a Diet Coke girl) you'll ever find. Now onto the main dish. The burger. It's a burger joint, folks. You can get beef burgers, turkey burgers, veggie burgers and I believe (don't quote me) chicken breast sandwiches. The restaurant serves up several of its own creations, but there is also a form (and mini pencils) available on each table for you to Create Your Own Legend (build your own burger). On my first visit, I had the Santa Fe Chipotle burger and on the second, I opted to make it my own. Now, for this place to be a burger joint, you'd expect a great burger, right? Well, it was a larger burger. A bland, boring, tasteless burger. Considering that it is named "Santa Fe Chipotle", you'd imagine a bright, bursting with flavor sandwich, right? Guacamole, pepper jack cheese, Santa Fe Chipotle sauce...sounds yummy? Well, it wasn't. I couldn't taste anything distinctive about the burger. All the flavors melded together and it just tasted like a wet, sloppy burger. I was sorely disappointed, but I eased my pain with a few more sweet potato chips. The second time around, I decided I played around with a few different ingredients because I didn't want a repeat of the first time. The toppings and condiment list was extensive and you could even choose the type of bun you wanted. I added sauteed onions and mushrooms, cheese (I can't remember which) and their house sauce. Unfortunately, the only thing that improved my burger was the salt and pepper I had to add to it to make it taste decent. Honestly, you could get a more flavorful burger at the Sonic down the street (not knocking Sonic - I love a good Sonic burger!). The bottom line is, a burger restaurant cannot exist on diet cola and addictive fries alone. It's a shame because it's staffed with some very friendly people and is a nice, clean place that isn't over booked every night of the week. I would only return if I couldn't get into another chain restaurant on Hall Road without a ridiculous wait, and even then, I'll be prepared to douse my burger with salt and pepper before taking my first bite.

My wife received a gift card for this place so we decided to check it out last weekend. The place has a very warm ambiance and is definitely on the masculine side when it comes to decorating. Lots of wood and brown tones and the walls have many TV's hanging on them ( I'm getting a good vibe at this point). There is even a working model train set running around the walls on a track. We were lead towards the back where there were TV's at every angle and a nice bar. I'm not much of a drinker anymore so I really can't say much on the selection. When we sat down and looked at the menu, I immediately noticed the train wreck burger (it's loaded with fresh cut fries, a fried egg, Great Lakes mild cheddar, sautéed onions, sautéed mushrooms, iceberg lettuce, fresh ground beef patties, and Bagger Dave's® Railhouse Burger Sauce® (like Thousand Island dressing), all served on a toasted sesame bun). I really didn't go any further and knew that I had to try it. My wife ordered a build your own burger. That is when we found out that fries were extra. Really?!?!? I'm paying $7.89 and I have to order the fries separately? This burger better be the best burger that I have ever had. Even with the gift card the red flags rose. We were both underwhelmed with our burgers. I swear that the patties were those frozen hockey pucks that you get at any store. They weren't bad but there was really nothing noteworthy about them. Christine has turned me on to using Ranch dressing with my fries and today I felt like going down that road. Their fries and the ranch were really good. This was by far the highlight of the meal. So here is our total... 2 burgers 2 fries 2 drinks 2 small cups of ranch dressing This massive order was just under $30. No really I'm not kidding. I thought for sure that a mistake had been made but I was wrong. The fries added another $4.59 I'm not sure how to pay for one order of fries since that would be 2.29 and a 1/2 each. Not surprisingly, the small ranch cups added another $.50 apiece. The one highlight was Amanda (pretty sure that was her name). She was very attentive and helpful. I would have tipped her more but I was not a happy camper after that bill. Overall thoughts The food was decent but did not stand out in anyway. This would not have stopped us from coming back as they had some menu items that sounded very tasty. The restaurant itself was very clean and comfortable. I was very happy to be able to watch the games that were on while we ate. The biggest negative was feeling like we had been nickel and dime'd while we were there. The bill was the last straw, I will not be back as I do not like feeling like I'm getting ripped off.

Just went here for the first time and loved it. My burger was great, hand cut fries, and a delicious Boston cooler for dessert! Will definitely go back.

I thought that the atmosphere in the restaurant was lacking something ...it was not overly inviting. Of course I got a burger, but I think that I made a crucial error when choosing the, "Train Wreck" because that's what it turned out to be. This burger came with Fries, a fried egg, sharp cheddar, sautéed onions, sautéed mushrooms, and iceberg lettuce on it ... topped off with "their" railroad sauce that is supposed to be like 1000 island dressing. ( wasn't a big fan.) I think that the good ole American cheese burger would have been a better choice or build my own. I thought that the fresh -cut French fries, were outstanding ...I would simply go back just for the fries & the homemade root beer.

My husband and I stumbled upon Bagger Dave's while shopping. We were getting hungry, and the smell of the burgers lured us to the door. Once inside, we were pleasantly greeted by the staff and led to a booth. We had our 2-yr-old daughter with us, and she was given some crayons and paper. But what really kept her attention was the model train that circles the restaurant up on a ledge. Those of you with toddlers/pre-schools know what a pain it can be to take them out to eat. This little train was a God send. It held her attention the entire time. But I digress. It was the food that got us excited. Our waitress informed us that all the beef comes from Michigan-raised cattle, and all the beers and sodas are made by Bagger Dave's. We tried a sampler of soda, including orange cream, black cherry, ginger ale and cola. Their fries and chips are also hand cut and very delicious. The burgers were delightful. I just got a run-of-the-mill cheeseburger, but my husband got a bacon cheddar burger with BBQ sauce. Our daughter had a grilled cheese off the kids' menu, and they used an inverted hamburger bun for the bread. She is a picky eater but cleaned her plate that day. The waitress was very attentive and informative as well. We were not pestered nor were we left alone for too long. So in summary: Food - 5 stars Service - 5 stars Atmosphere - 5 stars We cannot wait to go back. Update - May 2013: Our 2nd trip to Bagger Dave's was just as good as the first. This time, however, we brought a gang of family with us--there were 15 of us plus a baby and 2 toddlers. We didn't have to wait long for a table--maybe 15 minutes--and this was on a Saturday evening! We had ONE waitress tending to our entire party and she was phenomenal. You never would have guessed there was only one server working. Our drinks showed up promptly, and our food showed up in 2 deliveries, only 2 minutes apart. The food was delicious as expected. No one in our party had a bad meal. Once again, Bagger Dave's delivered. Love this place!

Great burgers. Was recommended to me and we were glad we listened. Not huge fan of their home made sodas or ketchup though. To order a burger you can just order from menu, or customize it by filling out an order form choosing exactly how and what you want on it. Service was pretty good, but there were only 3 tables with people at the time.

First visit to any Bagger Dave's and I enjoyed it very much! Went on a Monday night around 630p and there was hardly anyone in the place. The waitress was very pleasant and really took her time explaining the menu and how things work. I ordered the Blues Burger and my friend custom made her burger. We ordered the Mix and Match fries to split. I loved their fresh-cut fries. I didn't care for the sweet potato chips. I really enjoyed my burger; I am not normally a burger person, but the meat tasted....fresh and like a hamburger should taste. The pickle spear was delicious too! They draft their own sodas, so be prepared to pay a little more and they don't offer well-known brands, but free refills are included and my Black Cherry Cream was very refreshing. There are many flavors to choose from. All around a great experience and I hope to be a frequent diner as their pricing is just right too.

Went to Bagger Dave's recently and had a great meal! It was my first time trying a turkey burger (ever in life) and it was delicious, as were the fries and mac & cheese. This is def. not a low calorie type place, but as a cheat meal, so delicious and worth while. The different burger sauces are all very tasty as well.. On the flip side: the waitress seemed kind of like an indentured servant. I wouldn't go so far as to say slave, but she did not seem happy to be there. Also, the floor needed to be swept around nearby tables, and countless number of employees, including a manager, walked by without doing a thing. And a warning: those burgers can get expensive! Most of the different toppings and sauces cost money so a burger can turn out to be like $15 before you know it. Either way, I will go back again bc it was just too yummy to pass up!!

Had a good turkey burger. My son really loved the fries. The atmosphere was blah didn't seem like a tavern but more like McDonald's. Good attentive service. Food was good going down but my son and I had food poisoning within 30 minutes. The other two in our party didn't have an issue. Though good I will not be back.

My review follows many of the others. Bagger Dave's is an O.k. meal spot but could be much better. The burger selection is wide but both burgers we had were bland, served in paper wrappers, and served with some soft, mushy, sweet potato chips. I expected better for the prices. Thirty dollars for two burgers with soggy chips and a craft beer for each of us seems a bit much. Our waitress was pleasant though young and a bit lost though not rude at all. I would go back if invited by friends, but this will not be a destination eatery for my wife and I with many better choices around our area.

Atmosphere is great although the chairs are quite uncomfortable. I had the train wreck burger. It was bland and the mushrooms were from a can. The beer was quite good. I would come back, i wouldn't get a burger.

Beer was good. Burger was too small for the bun, dry, and the fries and Sweet potato chips were cooked enough. If you want a good Burger in this area, go into Utica and hit Shamrock Pub, they have the best burgers in the area! Won't go here again.

Heard good things so we came for burgers. So-so at best. Patties are thin overcooked and dry. If you're on a french fry and Michigan beer diet this place is fine but burgers are disappointing.

Great place. Firstly we had a really awesome waitress and staff was very respectful and made sure everything was in order. The place itself is laid back and really clean, the food is great and so was the service. Good place to go to have a beer with friends or for a family outing. Definitely recommend it!

Great Michigan beers and good burgers, albeit not as good as Smashburger. Having lunch with my beloved. Men of Westminister, you will like this place. Being a fan of Michigan-centric concepts, I was happy to learn that Bagger Dave's is owned and operated by a native son. They feature and highlight as many Michigan-produced products as they can, including quite a few Michigan microbrewed beers. I'm happy to report that BDs more than fulfills their promise of a better burger. My bride and I sat at the bar on a Thursday afternoon. Service was attentive and he obviously was a fan of the Michigan-centric offerings. We began with a bowl of their Turkey Chili and Sloppy Fries. The chili was quite tasty, traditionally-spiced with black beans and, of course, ground turkey instead of beef. It was offered with choices of onions, shredded cheddar, sour cream and pickled jalapenoes (which, by the way, I highly recommend; spicy, tart and *very* crisp). Tasty, as I said, but it could have been served a little warmer; it was borderline tepid. The Sloppy Fries were outstanding. BDs uses a traditional Belgian 5-step process for their FF, which are a bit on the larger side (think halfway between shoestring and steak fry) so the texture is very good. Personally, I love my fries crispy, but these were very good with assertive potato flavor. They were smothered in 'Dave's BBQ', which is reminiscent of the Sloppy Joe's I grew up with. Also covered in cheddar cheese and jalapenoes, I ate every scrap. As BDs is known for their 'build your own' burgers, I couldn't resist even though I had already eaten enough for two. I opted for the turkey patty with sharp cheddar and a number of other toppings, of which you only pay for the cheese, all others are included. The burger was well-seasoned, tasty and paired nicely with the toppings, all of which were fresh, crisp and complementary. I must mention the bun, because as many of you know, can often be an Achille's heel to a burger experience. It was soft but substantial and did it's job of holding everything together. Overall, I'm a fan of Bagger Dave's. I'm very happy they are open in the neighborhood and look forward to many experiences with them. I think they offer a far more compelling menu and dining experience to 5 Guys and absolutely blow away any of the mainstream casual dining chains in the area. Definitely worth a visit.
